Quebec's statutory warranty of proper functioning, which applies to new appliances sold by a retailer, stipulates a four-year term for televisions.
What the 4-year warranty covers (televisions)
No cost: It is automatic and free of charge, covering parts, labor, and reasonable transportation costs. ***
• Coverage: Malfunctions and breakdowns not caused by the user (e.g., a panel issue or an internal component failure).
• Responsible parties: The manufacturer (Samsung) or the retailer that sold the new appliance.
What is excluded
• Normal wear and tear or lack of maintenance.
• Accidental damage or damage resulting from misuse (such as a shattered screen after a fall).
***If a product is brought to the manufacturer or retailer and no problem is identified, a service fee will be charged to the customer.
